This website is a free take-home pay calculator for Singapore. It is operated and maintained by desymphony. You can reach the operator at [email protected]. The figures it publishes have not yet been through the site’s own review and sign-off.

What data is processed

Using the calculator requires no sign-up, and we ourselves neither collect nor store any details that directly identify you — not your name, your NRIC or FIN, your email address or the amounts you enter into the calculator. All calculations are carried out locally in your browser; your entries are not transmitted to a server and are not stored.

As with the operation of any website, the hosting provider may temporarily process technical connection data (for example a shortened IP address, the browser type and the time of access) in server logs, insofar as this is necessary for secure and stable operation. This data is not used to identify individual visitors and is not combined with other data sources.

Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)

For visitors in Singapore, the processing of personal data is governed by the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), administered by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC). Under the PDPA, personal data may only be collected, used or disclosed for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, with notification and — where required — your consent, and you have the right to ask what personal data is held and to have it corrected. We ourselves collect no data that identifies you by name. Google Analytics 4, however, already runs on every page — see Analytics and advertising after launch below for what it processes and why, in line with the PDPA. If advertising is introduced later, this policy will be updated with its purpose and basis before it goes live.

Purpose and legal basis, for every visitor

Technically necessary operations — running the website — rely on the legitimate interest in a functioning, secure service. Google Analytics 4 needs no separate legal basis for cookies or on-device storage, because it uses none: see below for the mechanism. If advertising is introduced later and needs to store something on your device, its basis would be your consent, gathered before anything is stored — never assumed, and never different for Singapore:

  • Every visitor, wherever you visit from — there is nothing here to consent to today. Every storage signal Google Analytics 4 or an advertising tag would use is denied by default, for every visitor, wherever you connect from, and this site has no banner or consent tool that could grant them — so none of this depends on your country, and nothing is stored on or read from your device without one. That is the mechanism, not a promise: Google Analytics 4 measures cookielessly (see Analytics and advertising after launch below for what Google still receives). If storage is ever switched on for analytics or advertising, it will be through an actual consent mechanism, and this page will be rewritten first.

Analytics and advertising after launch

Google Analytics 4 is already active on every page of this site, provided by Google LLC (USA). It runs without setting a cookie, but Google still receives, per page view: the page address, the referrer, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device or browser type. There is no advertising tag anywhere on this site. If advertising (Google AdSense) is added later, it would also be provided by Google LLC and may process further data for advertising purposes, including a shortened IP address and device identifiers. Like everything else here, any storage it would need starts denied by default, and this site would need an actual consent mechanism before it could grant it. Refusing would have no effect on how the calculator works. Further information and settings:

Cookies

This website sets no cookies for analytics or advertising — Google Analytics 4 runs cookielessly (see above). If a cookie is ever needed — most likely for advertising — it will be named, and how to manage it explained, on the cookie policy page. You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected, and — under the applicable regime — to object to or restrict its processing. Singapore residents exercise their access and correction rights under the PDPA. We ourselves collect no data that directly identifies you, so our own processing is very limited. Google Analytics 4 processes what Analytics and advertising after launch above describes; you exercise rights over Google’s own processing through Google’s account and ad settings, not through this site.

Do not send personal payroll data

Please do not email us personal details from your payslip — not your name, your NRIC or FIN, or precise CPF amounts. An example is enough for a rough estimate.
